Global Social Leaders (founded by Future Foundations & Wellington Leadership Institute)
This year marks the fourth anniversary of the adoption of the United Nation's Global Goals, a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals world leaders have signed up to in order to create a better world by 2030.
Future Foundations and the Wellington Leadership Institute (co-founders of the GSL) invite Nordic Network schools to take part in the Global Social Leaders (GSL) Global Goals Competition, and to join our movement of teachers and students committed to creating a more sustainable world.
This is a free programme which is professionally supported and develops your students’ leadership skills and understanding of Global Citizenship through active engagement with the United Nation's Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
The competition is open to all students up to the age of 17 years in the 2019-20 academic year.
Last year more than 4,000 young people from 86 countries entered the Global Goals Competition, leading projects that delivered innovative solutions to some of the most world’s most pressing issues.
These included a team in Sri Lanka designing and installing water filtration systems for rural communities, students in Tanzania distributing sanitary products and hygiene education to school girls and a zero waste project in India which has recruited 350 households to recycle.
